Pigeon
When living in Beijing, China I came across this vintage / second hand store. This type of clothing has always been near and dear to me as my Omi use to pass down her clothing to me as I grew up. The clothing was not always a fancy designer but it was from her and I cherished this. When walking into this store it was like walking into memories of my Omi. Later I met the owner who went by Pigeon. She too had this experience with her grandmother and vintage clothing. At the time I couldn’t speak much Chinese and she couldn’t speak much English but I felt a human connection where one did not need words to understand. I asked her if I could photographer her in store amongst the vintage clothing. The video clips are from her social media posts trying to sell the clothing from her store. The physical items are pieces that my Omi passed down to me. Around this time back in the USA my Omi had just pasted away.
